Tiling
02:44
|
|||
Nobody told me that tiling could be so dangerous.
Fill in the cracks with mounds of grout.
Feeling attacks of mounting doubt.

2. |
||||
No signs of life around those parts that used to buzz
with the merest nudge of action.
Just don't think about it.
This kinship craved will not stay such constant waving in and out -
The ups and the downs are going nowhere.
Unfold your harms without my hand,
or else stagnant palms are all you'll have.
Just don't think about it.

Rosalia's Gladioli
03:12
|
|||
Between the earth and sky keeping eternal watch
lies a rushing, headlong torrent.
Life passes on.
After gladioli wither into waves;
caressing the shore pulled into a deadly, returning murmur
and engraved on plates of bronze their harmony.
Darkened afflictions and soothing falsehoods
leaving nothing but their mark, omnipresent.
After gladioli wither into waves;
caressing the shore, pulled into a deadly, returning murmur
and engraved on plates of bronze their harmony.

Stone Hands
03:31
|
|||
That distant ship has sailed,
casting its waves
back to shore to lap against the port,
unrecognisable.
Cast an eye over the dock -
towards the edge, teasing the rock -
a hazy lilting in the fog,
a murky vessel bound to knock.
An unfamiliar craft
availing of the ocean's draught -
the take and the give, it tempts the spit
to land stone hands amid the mist,
until spun and flung adrift.

Hey There, Coffee
03:06
|
|||
Hey there, don't fret the worst,
all we know's that it might never happen.
Laid bare in our bodies and terms,
we should work loose the nerves in your neck and my words.
Ensnared by the slope and the dip
of the bone at each hip -
the last thing you said I just didn't quite catch it.
Seek out balance in the sway
of the differing ways of our thinking.
No doubt, I might get defensive
if put to the test - not my best in the morning.
Throughout I'm not looking for conflict,
I just need a coffee or three - I'm a creature of habit.
I'll sit on the fence and you'll run from it.
It's all I wanted.
